A ban of Segways in Prague has been place since July 2016, however there were no signs to specify which areas were affected. This has changed recently, and Prague city installed more than 600 signs (as shown on the picture below) making it clear where exactly you can’t ride a Segway.

Local police officers started to fine tourists violating the Segway ban in the restricted areas. The fine is pretty huge – up to 2.000,- CZK. Obviously lot of local segway rental services have already closed or will be closing soon, because the restricted area is basically the whole city center, including Old Town, New Town, Hradcany, Lesser Town, Holesovice etc.

OUR TIP Segways are not cool anyway, so just walk and enjoy the city atmosphere. For longer distances you can ride for free with Uber.
