Prague’s Vaclav Havel Airport is set to see a significant boost in connectivity as multiple airlines have confirmed new or returning routes for the upcoming winter 2025/26 season and summer 2026. The announcements bring fresh links to cities across Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

Bucharest – Animawings Joins the Route

From 5 October 2025, Romanian airline Animawings will launch a regular service between Prague and Bucharest, operating three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Passengers can expect a modern travel experience aboard the Airbus A220-300, with both Economy and Business classes available. One-way fares start from €50 to Prague and €60 from Prague, including an 8 kg cabin bag.

This new entrant will compete with Tarom’s existing service, offering a more modern aircraft on the route. Animawings’ expansion also includes other destinations from Bucharest, such as Sofia.

Cork – Aer Lingus Returns After 17 Years

Ireland’s Aer Lingus will restore a direct link between Prague and Cork after a 17-year hiatus. The seasonal winter route begins 23 October 2025, flying twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays with an Airbus A320.

Cork, Ireland’s second-largest city, was last served from Prague in 2008 by CSA Czech Airlines. Aer Lingus already operates year-round flights between Dublin and Prague and will run six weekly flights to Dublin during the winter.

Skopje – Wizz Air Launches North Macedonia Link

Low-cost carrier Wizz Air will connect Prague to Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, from 15 December 2025. The service will operate three times weekly—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in winter, switching to Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in summer.

The new route is part of Wizz Air’s expansion at Skopje Airport and comes with local incentives aimed at boosting tourism.

Sofia – Wizz Air Adds Bulgarian Capital

In addition to Skopje, Wizz Air will introduce flights to Sofia from 27 October 2025. The year-round service will run four times weekly in winter and five times weekly in summer. The route is already served by Bulgaria Air, which flies four times a week with Airbus A220 aircraft.

Tel Aviv – TUS Airways Joins Competitive Route

From 26 October 2025, Cyprus-based TUS Airways will operate six weekly flights between Prague and Tel Aviv using Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline enters a crowded market currently served by Blue Bird Airways, Arkia, El Al, Israir, and Smartwings, underlining the route’s strong demand.

Beirut – Eurowings Restores Lebanon service

Germany’s Eurowings will bring back a direct connection to Beirut starting 7 November 2025, with weekly Friday flights. One-way fares start at approximately CZK 2,500, with return tickets available from around CZK 4,728. The route was last operated before the pandemic and will be part of Eurowings’ broader Middle East expansion.

Philadelphia – American Airlines Returns in Summer 2026

In a major long-haul development, American Airlines will resume its daily summer seasonal service between Prague and Philadelphia from 21 May to 5 October 2026. Operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the route offers extensive onward connections across North America through American’s Philadelphia hub.

American Airlines last flew from Prague in 2019 before the pandemic halted operations. The comeback strengthens Prague’s direct transatlantic offering, alongside Delta’s flights to New York.

These announcements mark one of the most ambitious expansion periods for Prague Airport in recent years, enhancing its role as a key Central European hub. From vibrant European cities to Middle Eastern capitals and U.S. gateways, travelers will have more choice than ever before. With both low-cost and full-service carriers in the mix, the upcoming seasons promise more competition, potentially better fares, and a broader range of destinations for leisure and business passengers alike.
