Prague’s riverfront will come alive on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, as the Czech Army returns to Naplavka for a spectacular event marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. From 9:00 to 18:00, visitors can enjoy a full day of dynamic demonstrations, military displays, and unique experiences on both banks of the Vltava.
Highlights of the Program
- Paratrooper Jumps: Watch as paratroopers leap from helicopters into the Vltava, right between the Railway and Palacky bridges.
- Rappelling onto a Pontoon: Special forces will demonstrate their skills by rappelling directly onto a floating pontoon.
- Helicopter Flyovers: Look up for thrilling helicopter flybys above the river.
- Military Vehicles on Display: Get up close to modern armored vehicles like TITUS, the DANA howitzer, Pandur, Kajman, armored ambulance, and more. Historic vehicles, including anti-aircraft cannons and the Windsor Carrier Mk. I, will also be on show.
- Interactive Activities: Meet the Military Police, Castle Guard, Honor Guard, and other army units. Try out physical tests at the recruitment center, explore military schools, and meet Olympic athletes from the Dukla Army Sports Center.
- Family Fun: Enjoy the POKOS educational project, taste authentic military goulash, and browse exhibits from military organizations and state enterprises.
