The iconic Hotel InterContinental in Prague has reopened as the Fairmont Golden Prague following a comprehensive five-year renovation. Acquired in 2019 by Czech billionaires Pavel Baudiš, Eduard Kučera, and Oldřich Šlemr through their investment firm R2G, the total investment, including purchase and refurbishment, amounts to nearly 10 billion CZK.

Situated on Pařížská Street by the Vltava River, the hotel now offers 320 rooms and suites, blending original 1970s brutalist architecture with contemporary luxury. Notable features include restored chandeliers by René Roubíček and ceiling sculptures by Čestmír Kafka.
Guests can enjoy six dining venues, including the rooftop restaurant Zlatá Praha, and relax in the Fairmont Spa, which boasts Prague's only indoor/outdoor pool . Currently, approximately 40 rooms are available, all of which are fully booked. The hotel anticipates an average occupancy rate of around 80% in the coming year, with nightly rates ranging from €600 to €700.

The Fairmont Golden Prague aims to serve as a long-term investment, preserving its Czech heritage through curated art installations and design elements. The hotel is now welcoming guests, marking a new chapter in its storied history.
