A monumental replica of the Saint Wenceslas Crown built from 128,333 Lego bricks has arrived in Prague. The two-meter-tall model was created at the Lego factory in Kladno to mark its 25th anniversary and is on display at Hradcanske namesti until September 21.

A Symbol of History Made of Lego

The crown, crafted by the factory’s Model Production team, connects Czech history with playful creativity. Its aim is to spark children’s curiosity about national heritage and show that even the most precious treasures can inspire fun learning. At the same time, the installation highlights the original Czech coronation jewels, which are currently exhibited at Prague Castle.

25 Years of Lego in Kladno

Founded in 2000, the Kladno plant is one of six global Lego factories and the second oldest in operation. Covering more than 124,000 m², the site prints, assembles, and packs Lego bricks for worldwide distribution. It also houses a special workshop where unique large-scale models for stores, Legoland parks, and exhibitions are built. The Saint Wenceslas Crown is the latest creation to emerge from this workshop, following projects such as life-size Lego race cars for Formula 1 events.

Visit the Real Czech Coronation Jewels

Alongside the playful Lego replica, visitors can also admire the authentic Czech coronation jewels at Prague Castle. The set includes the Saint Wenceslas Crown with its three caps, cushion, and case, the royal orb with its case, the royal sceptre with its case, and the coronation robe.

These treasures are on display in the exhibition “Czech Coronation Jewels: Treasure in the Darkness” in the Vladislav Hall from September 18 to 29, 2025. It is a rare opportunity to see the crown, orb, sceptre, and royal cloak that have symbolized Czech statehood for centuries.

The Lego crown of Saint Wenceslas brings together tradition and imagination. As Prague hosts this striking model, it not only celebrates 25 years of Lego in Kladno but also invites the public to rediscover national heritage. Visitors can first admire the playful version on Hradcanske namesti, then step into Vladislav Hall to see the true royal jewels themselves.
