Prague Airport has once again secured global recognition, winning the prestigious Routes World Award 2025 in the category of airports handling 10 to 20 million passengers per year. The airport successfully defended last year’s title, surpassing strong competitors including Edinburgh, Calgary, Indianapolis, and San Antonio.

The award is decided directly by representatives of airlines, reflecting how airports develop new routes, support marketing, and cooperate with carriers. For Prague, this marks the fourth Routes World Award in its history. The success highlights the airport’s ability to expand destinations, provide data-driven support, and maintain strong partnerships with airlines.

New Routes And Growth In 2025

In 2025, Prague Airport launched flights to 18 new destinations. Six of them are long-haul routes, including Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakech, and a charter service to the Maldives. On top of that, capacity increased on 88 existing routes, either through more frequent connections or larger aircraft.

Global Forum In Hong Kong

The award was announced during Routes World 2025, held from 24 to 26 September in Hong Kong. The annual forum brings together airports, airlines, and tourism organizations to shape the future of global aviation.

Winning the Routes World Award for the second consecutive year underlines Prague Airport’s growing role as a Central European hub. With new connections and strengthened partnerships, the airport is well positioned to continue expanding its global reach.
