The first weekend of August marks the climax of Prague Pride and brings markets, concerts and movies to the Czech capital. From Friday through Sunday the city’s clubs and galleries overflow with queer celebrations, design fairs and classical music. Below is a curated weekend round‑up for events taking place from Friday 1 August to Sunday 3 August 2025.

Dyzajn Market holiday

The Holešovice market hall transforms into a colourful design fair for two days. Over 180 independent Czech designers will sell clothing, jewellery, porcelain and accessories, while live music, creative workshops and children’s theatre entertain visitors. Food stalls provide street‑food and sweet treats. This market is the largest selective sales exhibition of creative work in the city and entry is free.

Swap Revolution v Riegráčích

Clear out your wardrobe and join Prague’s summer clothing swap in the green oasis of Riegrovy Sady. Organised by Swap Prague, Youth Progress and Fashion Revolution, this event encourages circular fashion and community sharing. Bring clothing or household items in good condition and exchange them for new treasures. The organisers promise an accompanying programme on sustainable fashion and ask visitors to register in advance; entry costs 200 CZK.

Pride Parade

Prague Pride’s biggest moment takes over the city on Saturday. Gather in the lower part of Wenceslas Square from 11 a.m. (corner of Můstek and Na Příkopě) to sing the Czech national anthem before the march starts at noon. The 3‑km route winds along Na Příkopě, Revoluční and Dlouhá through Old Town Square and Pařížská, crosses Čechův Bridge and climbs up to Letná. Expect music points, DJ sets, sign‑making stations, free water and rainbow accessories en route. Participation is free; Pride Park at Letná requires a wristband (CZK 200) for entry. The parade is inclusive and child‑friendly and remains the joyous climax of the festival.

Jan Blomqvist live

Berlin‑based artist Jan Blomqvist brings his melodic techno to ARCHA+ for Prague Pride’s headline concert. Known for merging live vocals with atmospheric house and techno beats, Blomqvist will be supported by local DJs IM CYBER and BEOBE before taking the stage around 10:40 p.m. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the concert runs late into the night.

Strauss, Mozart & Dvořák – Concert + Opera + Ballet

Smetana Hall

For a more classical evening, Smetana Hall inside the Municipal House hosts a programme of Strauss waltzes, Mozart arias and Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances. A soprano singer and ballet dancers accompany the orchestra, blending operatic excerpts and ballet interludes. The concert series runs throughout August, but this Friday performance kicks off the month.

Music from Movies

The Dvořák Symphony Orchestra Prague performs iconic film scores by John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone and others in Smetana Hall. An electric bass, drummer and singer join the orchestra to bring cinematic classics to life.

Eye in Art 1900–2025

This extensive survey at Museum Kampa examines how artists from the early 20th century to the present have used optical illusion, abstraction and new media to explore “the eye” as subject and metaphor. Works span avant‑garde pioneers like František Kupka through contemporary video and installation art. The exhibition is open daily and runs through October 12. Museum Kampa is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and regular admission is CZK 250 (students/seniors CZK 150, family ticket CZK 480).

Summer School, 2001 – film screening

Kino Atlas presents the world premiere of Tomáš Bojar’s 2025 film “Summer School, 2001.” Seventeen‑year‑old Kien returns from Vietnam to his family in Cheb. He struggles with an estranged father and teenage brother while confronting identity, loyalty and generational tension within Czechia’s Vietnamese community. The film is shown in Czech with English subtitles.

Petrol Palace 2025 at Troja Castle

Car lovers shouldn’t miss Petrol Palace 2025, a two‑day vehicle exhibition held in the picturesque Troja Castle. Running from 10:00 to 20:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 17:00 on Sunday, the event allows visitors to get up close to luxury cars like Aston Martins, Porsches and Lamborghinis, talk to owners of modified cars and even take a spin in the latest Lexus models. The programme includes test drives, detailing workshops, a drawing studio for families and the option to visit the castle’s “Palace of (Free) Time” exhibition (with a separate GHMP admission fee).
