Prague is one of the best cities to visit with your family and kids. Whether your children are teenagers or newborns, you will find plenty of things to do and enjoy the city. One of the reasons is the city’s safety – Prague is, in general very safe, and there aren’t areas where you should be afraid to walk alone. According to a recent study, Prague is the third safest city in the World (after Taipei and Tokyo).

When traveling with family, we recommend staying outside of the city center. Look for family-friendly areas like Holesovice, Hradcany, Letna, Vinohrady, or Dejvice where you will find plenty of kid-friendly places and parks. On the other hand, try to stay away from the city center. It’s fine during the day but gets very busy (and loud) during the night.

However, picking the right accommodation for your family is key, and that’s why we have compiled this list of the best family-friendly hotels in Prague with excellent ratings. The general problem is there aren’t many hotels in Prague with family rooms, so you may as well look for an apartment.

1. Old Royal Post Hotel (Prague 1, Old Town)

Two-bedroom suite in the Old Royal Post Hotel in Prague

Old Royal Post Hotel is a small boutique establishment offering accommodation in 25 rooms/apartments. One of the apartments is an 81 m2 two-bedroom suite including two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a beautiful terrace. All you need for your perfect family vacation. The price per night is only € 160 which is a great deal.

The hotel is located in Mala Strana (Old Town) within a walking location from Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. There are a lot of cafes and kid’s playgrounds, too. You can also arrange a breakfast at the Mondieu restaurant which is on the ground floor.

The hotel rating is a staggering 4.8 on Google and 9.5 on Booking.com. Considering the price, the location, the room, and the reviews, this is our #1 recommendation for family travelers.

2. numa Republika Rooms & Apartments ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Prague 1, Old Town)

Maisonette room in numa Republika

numa is a well-known accommodation brand that expanded into Prague only recently and renovated the former Hotel Republika. You can expect beautifully designed rooms and modern technologies, including self-check-in. Although it’s not a typical hotel, you can still enjoy a delicious breakfast which is a great help if you are traveling with kids.

The building is located next to Petrske Square in the Old Town and offers amazing views. Within a 5-minute walking distance, there is one of the best playgrounds in Prague called Lanova. There are also a lot of coffee shops and bakeries around.

The Maisonette room is very spacious (90 m2) and has two bedrooms with large double beds, so you will comfortably fit with 2 kids. As a bonus, you will have a private terrace with breathtaking views. All this for 500 per night.

You can also check their other location in Prague 2 called numa Flow which has an apartment with 2 bedrooms and is much cheaper (around € 200 per night).

3. Plaza Prague Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Prague 7, Holesovice)

Family room in Plaza Prague Hotel

Plaza Prague Hotel (formerly known as Alta) offers great value for money and has an excellent rating of 9.2. They have a family room with two single beds and one double bed. Great location in Holesovice with plenty of kid-friendly businesses and attractions around. You can also walk to Letna or Karlin.

The rooms are clean, and the furniture and equipment are a bit outdated. The room size is only 25 m2. However, the price per night is only € 146, which is a good deal. Families praise the hotel location and excellent breakfast.

4. Four Seasons Prague ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Prague 1, Old Town)

Deluxe room in Four Seasons hotel in Prague

Four Seasons Prague is the best option if you are after luxury. It’s located in Prague 1, Josefov, also known as the former Jewish Quarter. It’s right in the middle of the city between the Charles Bridge and Old Town (Staromestske) Square. However, the actual location and nearby area are extremely peaceful. Our secret tip is the beautiful kid’s playground in Kampa Park right under the bridge.

The hotel rating is superb 9.2, and it also offers babysitting. The only issue is there is no family room, so you can only go there with one kid. The deluxe room offers plenty of space within the 40 m2, and the baby crib is available on request. The price is above € 1.000 per night.

5. Hotel Mucha ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Prague 1, Old Town)

Standard Quadruple Room in Hotel Mucha

Hotel Mucha is a stylish hotel located in Florenc (same as Rooftop Planet hotel). Besides the good location, the main benefit is the family rooms. It offers two quadruple rooms which accommodate up to 4 people and are a perfect choice for families.

The first room is the Standard Quadruple Room (30 m2) which features one double bed, one single bed, and one bunk bed which is fun for kids! The other one is the Luxury Quadruple Room which is the same size but has two bedrooms with double beds. Both are priced at around € 1,000 per night, which is the same price as the Four Seasons hotel.

The hotel rating is 9.1, thanks to its cleanliness and comfort. Hotel Muchal is a beautiful hotel with all the perks and services you would expect from a 4-star establishment. The location is great because it’s right on the subway (station Florenc), tram, and bus. It’s also right in between the Old Town and Karlin. Karlin is famous for its coffee shops and many kids’ playgrounds.

6. Rooftop Planet Prague Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Prague 1, Old Town)

Deluxe Suite room in Rooftop Planet Hotel Prague

Rooftop Planet is not a typical hotel as it’s based on the top floor of the office building. The rooms are very modern, yet a bit smaller (from 18 m2 to 35 m2). The breakfast is served in the nearby restaurant. The best is the hotel location. It’s located in the Old Town and within walking distance from all the Prague’s main attractions.

As a family, you have two room options – Deluxe Double or Deluxe Suite with a terrace that accommodate up to 4 people. However, keep in mind both are one bedroom only so you have to take advantage of the sleeping sofa. The price starts at around 700 per night.

The hotel rating is 9.0, and guests praise the rooms’ cleanliness and the hotel’s location. The location is great because it’s right on the subway (station Florenc), tram, and bus. It’s also right in between the Old Town and Karlin. Karlin is famous for its coffee shops and many kids’ playgrounds.
